A Zorro Mask Making Workshop & Zorro Party
with Central Calcasieu Parish Library & Paragon Orchestra

Workshop- Noon to 12:45 pm Children are invited make Zorro masks to wear in honor of the Paragon Orchestra event and are encouraged to attend the program wearing their costumes. For more information you can contact the library at 337-475-8792.

Party with Zorro- 1 to 2 pm Members of the Paragon Orchestra will bring vintage instruments and play selections from "Mask of Zorro." Rick Benjamin, orchestra leader, will talk about the historic tradition of movie sound tracks and orchestra members will demonstrate the importance of percussion for the "sound" in a silent film.

This event is partially funded by a grant from the Louisiana Decentralized Arts Funding Program as administered by the Arts and Humanities Council of SWLA.

Conductor Rick Benjamin will explain the history of the music of movies and Leslie Cullen will demonstrate on the flute. The Orchestra will have a young people's get-together in Central Calcasieu Parish Library.

Shirim Klezmer Orchestra
They will perform "Pincus and the Pig: A Klezmer Tale" written by Maurice Sendak.
