Since 1997, Joy Glidden served as the Founding Director of the d.u.m.b.o. Art Center and the d.u.m.b.o. Art Under the Bridge Festival, now one of New York's largest and most diverse annual arts events. In this role, she produced and coordinated exhibitions at (DAC)'s gallery; a series at the Brooklyn Library and at the Islip Museum, NY. She has lectured on non-profit policy for NYU, Pratt, Maryland Institute for Contemporary Art and the positive effects of an artists' community through creative capital with the Danish, Norwegian, and Korean Consulates. Her efforts have had a great impact on waterfront development through the celebration of art and culture in New York City.
Louisiana ArtWorks is a 93,000 sq. ft. space with Metal pouring, Glass blowing, Print making, Ceramics and Photography departments, 18 onsite artist studios, educational facilities, two exhibition spaces (1200 sq. ft. and 5000 sq. ft), sculpture garden, Work on paper Flat Files and a Video Project Room.
