Until 1920, women did not have the vote in this country. Now a few generations later, Louisiana women have left their mark in the halls of the U.S. Congress as well as in statewide offices of the gubernatorial, legislative and judicial branches and in local governments. U.S. Senator Mary L. Landrieu will lead a panel of Louisiana women, including State Senator Sharon Weston Broome and State Representative Jane Smith, reflecting on the unique legacy of our state’s elected female leaders.
