Although she was born and bred in Italy, Roberta Gambarini sings with a distinctly American jazz flavor. In fact, The Boston Globe calls her the "true successor to Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Carmen McRae.” Her latest album, "So in Love," was a 2010 Grammy nominee for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Her multi-octave range might be an indicator of the "cool school" but when she starts swinging, her scats and melodies are anything but cool!
